Thanks for taking this survey. It will be an enormous help as we put together the puzzle of a performance arts business in this unusual year.
We are considering founding a Patreon site, where our patrons can have access to exclusive things like live-streamed performances or song downloads for a regular contribution. Patreon is an online platform founded in 2013 where communities can directly support works of art, music, film etc. with a regular donation of each donor’s choosing. It’s kind of like how the Esterhazy family supported Haydn, or Nica de Koenigwarter supported Monk and Bird, only the burden is made light by being spread over all the artist’s supporters.
We have two recording projects underway now and more on deck, and this would be a way we could share our creative process and be able to sustain ourselves while getting our work done.
One of these projects is a collection of songs recorded right in our house a while ago, when we transformed our whole downstairs living area into a recording studio with the help of recording engineer Ryan Staples. There remains a list of instrumental parts to add to these recordings and then final mixing can begin.
